On Saturday, September 8, 2012 AARPCV participated in their third quarter community service activity in
support of MedShare, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare and the environment through the efficient recovery and redistribution of the surplus of medical supplies and equipment to those most in need.
Seventeen AARPCV members volunteered along side one other volunteer group to assist sorting and preparing medical supplies
for shipping to Nigeria and Ecuador. In total, AARPCV members helped pack 205 boxes of medical supplies equaling 1833 pounds.
AARPCV's Volunteer Committee would like to thank Elizabeth Haskell, Lead Volunteer Program Coordinator at MedShare for
partnering on this wonderful community service opportunity. Thank you also to all the hardworking AARPCV members that volunteered
their time and energy to decreasing our carbon footprint and bringing healing and the promise of better lives to countless
patients in other countries.
