Around 35 people joined the AARPCV Annual
General Meeting and First Quarter Potluck at the home of Kristin Delea in East Atlanta.
In addition to great food and great conversation, members discussed upcoming events
such as the Wine Tasting Fundraiser on February 25. Attendees were reminded that fundraisers support both domestic service
projects in Atlanta, as well as international initiatives through Peace Corps Partnership Projects (PCPP). Jessica Gershick,
Co-Chair of the International Committee presented a PCPP underway in Peru and members approved a motion to contribute $500
toward the "Healthy Homes" cookstove project.
The 2012 theme – AARPCV: Our Membership, Our Service, Our Impact… – was presented
by Jennifer Owens, Co-Chair of the Volunteer Committee. In support of the theme to highlight AARPCV members, Jennifer
requested submissions regarding details about members’ current volunteer service in Atlanta and beyond. The Volunteer
Committee will review all submissions and incorporate the work of AARPCVs in upcoming programs and membership spotlights.
For any members that missed the potluck, feel free to send details about your involvement in local or international organizations
to the Volunteer Committee at volunteer@aarpcv.org, especially if the organization is looking for new volunteers. Let the committee know if you or any organizations you
are involved with sell crafts, as we are exploring a possible craft sale with a portion of all proceeds benefiting AARPCV.
