Over forty recently returned volunteers or those
new to the Atlanta area joined the AARPCV Board for a New Member brunch at the home of Board member Kelly Callahan on
Saturday, September 28, 2012. New members had the opportunity to learn about AARPCV activities, resources available,
and enjoy a delicious spread provided by the Board.

Recently returned volunteers are reminded
that membership is free in AARPCV, as well as the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) for the first year following close of service. When you become a member of AARPCV, you also
have the opportunity to receive job announcements via the listserv.
Additional benefits for recently returned
volunteers include federal noncompetitive eligiblity (NCE) status for their service. We know
that making the transition home or to a new place is not always easy
and finding a job may be even harder. New members are encouraged to participate in AARPCV's Mentoring Program through NPCA.
Contact Kelly or Adrienne, AARPCV's Mentoring Committee Co-Chairs, for additional information or with questions about any of the information listed
above.
