Continuing the spirit of service,
AARPCV’s Domestic Service Committee organizes service projects within the Atlanta community. The objective of the committee is to
provide a variety of different volunteer opportunities for AARPCV members, to facilitate fellowship among the membership,
to highlight various community needs within Atlanta, and to expose the Atlanta community to Peace Corps.
Beginning
in 2007, AARPCV introduced a new strategy for volunteer activities. Instead of
volunteering every month, the board decided to have 4 major volunteer events that coincide with the technical tracks of Peace
Corps. We have also committed to serving organizations where we have had a long-term
relationship, such as MedShare and Café 458.
